33.8.1 Present and perfect participle of intransitive verbs


The present participle describes something that is going on at the moment. The perfect participle describes something that shows into the past. This difference is only valid for intransitive verbs (= verbs that do not require an object).

= the melting ice
das geschmolzene Eis
= the melted ice
